I'm not sure wether its just because I kinda fancy some cake right now or I was just inspired to do this post after seeing yet another fabulous cake at a recent Wedding - probably abit of both.
I wanted to celebrate the amazing artistry that is Wedding Cake creation and give a shout out to a few of the super talented people I know who do this for a living. If I have missed you off this list and you see one of your cakes on here then PLEASE tell me and I will add your name.
I've gone through many of the amazing Weddings I shot last year and edited up this selection of my favourites. Please let me know if you need any help when planning your Wedding as I know loads of brilliant suppliers that I can push your way.
Enjoy your cake... xxx
I have a favourite team of fabulous suppliers that I like to work with (although I'm not adverse to working with inspiring new people too BTW) and earlier on this year we got together and photographed FOUR amazing colour inspired Wedding stories at Gildridge Manor in Eastbourne.
This story was titled 'Peaches & Cream' inspired by Leonie Claire's fabulous dresses.
Location: Gildridge Manor in Eastbourne, East Sussex
Model: Lydia Hague
Dress: Leonie Claire Bridal
Hair & Make-up: Christina Jessel
Styling: Miranda at Flutterby Events
Photography: Teri V Photography
I can't quite believe that we're now speeding away from 2016 and especially the glorious summer. I was lucky enough to have a completely full diary again this summer and even luckier to have been invited to photograph stunningly beautiful Weddings like this one for Christina and Ben.
Christina's bridal preparations began at Windfalls Boutique Hotel in Crawley West Sussex. A beautiful calming venue with such a stylish, considered decor that it made it a joy to photograph there. The bridal preparations are probably my favourite part of any Wedding day. I love all the creativity that goes into the hair and make-up plus the freedom of my imagination when it comes to photographing shoes and dresses. Tracey Baden and Bethany Alden did the most phenomenal work for all the girls hair and make-up and Christina's dress was 'Tanika' by Anna Georgina, her alluring shoes were by Harriet Wilde.
After a beautiful service at St. Nicholas' Church in Worth the happy couple and all their guests went onto Slaugham Place near to Haywards Heath in West Sussex. I so love this venue for Weddings. Its home to the Grade II listed ruins of a striking Elizabethan manor house. You can even have your ceremony amongst the ruins.
I have to also give a mention to the beautiful music of the 'piano man' Michael G Moore. Who pretty much played and sung (gorgeously) all day and night long. Click on the following link to hear more because i would throughly recommend his accomplished talent to anyone or everyone. www.michaelgmoore.co.uk
Kerry at Rose Cottage Flowers did all the floral displays & bouquets & once again totally impressed me with her inventive creativity and the variation of just the most amazing summer flowers ever.
This was such a beautiful Wedding - I hope you'll agree xxx
Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex was the most perfect venue for Joelle and Ross' Wedding this September. Set in the heart of the South Downs National Park they pride themselves on being the prettiest Barn Wedding venue in Sussex.
Joelle wore a Leonie Claire dress that was just so perfect for her in both fit and personality style - OMG if your looking for a perfect Wedding dress thats a little different from the norm then you MUST check out Leonie Claire Bridal in Brighton. Her dresses are just so, so gorgeous!!!
Her hair was styled by Claire Drew at The Drew Do and she did her make-up herself, which makes perfect sense if your not a big make-up wearer. You want to still look real and like yourself on the most important day of your life (so far!!).
Joelle's amazing Wedding shoes were Carvela Kurt Geiger and her wonderful husband Rob's suit was from Next.
The food was amazing. I was lucky enough to be given the full 3 courses!!! Nibbles2Nosh did the catering and Greenfingers Florist in Worthing designed and supplied all the gorgeous flowers, including Joelle's super amazing bouquet.
I just so loved the metallic theme running throughout from the grooms ties to the bunting to the glorious cake by Wedding Kate. It took the whole barn wedding theme to a trendy up-to-date level rather than just being rustic.
The evenings entertainment was by The Faradays a band from Stafford. Kind of funky folk music, so, so good.
If you want to see more then Joelle and Rob have a link to a beautiful online gallery so get in touch and I can send you the link... xx
Maddy and Ben had the most fabulous Wedding on 8th October 2016 at the magically unique Regency home Angel House in Brighton. The house is the first seafront property in Hove right opposite the iconic and reassuring presence of the Angel Peace Statue. If your considering a venue in Brighton then Angel House is elegant, exclusive and opulent enough without being too over the top. The fact you can all go across the road to the seafront for group and family shots is a bonus. It even rained on us but we still got some fab shots before it all got too much.
Maddy looked so, so amazing in her beautiful gown from Fross Wedding Collections in Uckfield and her shoes were from Rainbow Club. The wonderfully talented and lovely Nicky Smith at Pretty Pout did her hair and make-up and the whole Wedding was styled by Lisa @ Wedding Dressings.
Its always fabulous when the styling and flowers are sympathetic to the decor of the venue. Its a must to consider the whole picture rather than just your favourite colour. Maddy and Ben's flowers were by Flowers Unlimited in Hove. The blue and ivory accents set off the dining room perfectly, especially with the romantic French, Parisian theme. Even the beautiful yet simple Wedding cake by Willow and Bloom in Ditchling carried on the beautiful blue theme.
Because of the rain we didn't get across to the seafront until early evening. It stayed dry long enough for us to get some beautiful night themed shots. Actually the rain didn't bother us too much earlier anyway as the venue had a beautiful hall and front doorway so nobody had to get wet!
I have to mention the fantastic caterers too Secret Service Events. Such lovely, lovely people and totally delicious food. I can say this with confidence as they were super kind enough to offer me a yummy dinner too.
The evenings entertainment was provided by Curtis Skinner, such an accomplished singer and a really nice guy too. He sang throughout the whole candlelit evening, giving a distinguished and eventful note to the night. Downstairs the bar area hosted a vintage style Photobooth by Victoria Lilly Events. Perfect for keeping your guests entertained whilst they're queuing for drinks.
