Back in September (between lockdowns) I managed to squeeze in quite a few photoshoots, which was amazing. These two gorgeous people have booked me to shoot their Wedding in 2021 and optioned to take their pre-wedding shoot now rather than later. Basingstoke Canal is a special place for them and when they mentioned the row boats I was totally up for the journey in the rain! Plus I had a new camera to play with and after months of canceled Weddings it was really exciting to be shooting again.
These rich deep colours show Autumn at its best and Neda's choice of a gorgeous deep red jumper just made the shoot I think. It really helps to think about what your wearing for your pre-wedding shoot. Considering not only the colours and textures of your chosen location but also the theme of what your doing and where you are.
I can't wait to see this couple again for their wedding next spring. It makes such a difference to shoot before a couples wedding day. We now know each other like good friends and they know the way I work and direct so nothing will be scary or uncomfortable on their big day. They are totally used to having a kiss in front of the camera and we practiced a few fun poses and positions too that we'll be sure to use again.
Do consider a pre-wedding 'warm-up' shoot before your wedding day. Not only do you get to practice and 'warm-up' but you'll also get a ton of fabulous images in your normal clothes, not wedding gear! Lots of couples frame a few of these images for decorating their wedding with. Maybe popping a couple on the gift table or using one in a signing frame. xx
