Every minute of Chloe & Togun's amazing wedding was full of laughter, colour and happiness. This has to have been one of the craziest Weddings I have ever had the pleasure in photographing, and I mean that of course in a very good way.
After spending a very calm, relaxed morning with Chloe and her Mother, sister and bridesmaids I then took a short walk along the seafront and up to the end of Eastbourne Pier. Here I met up with Togun and his groomsmen who all wore suits from Gresham Blake. They were busily preparing the Ocean Suite which is situated right at the end of the pier under the golden dome!
The weather was perfect!
The views from here are outstanding. With panoramic views out across the sea and then behind you when your back outside - looking back at the Eastbourne coastline. You really need a proper sunny day to really appreciate it and I could not believe our luck as the weather was PERFECT. This was back in mid September last year so it was a real treat to still be hanging on to the amazing summer we all had in the UK.
Togun was busy directing the room styling, the many, many balloons, the abundance of amazingly colourful floral displays by Deb's Flowers and the positioning of the 'floating cake'... OK this is where I have to tell you the theme and then all the colour & craziness from the images will make perfect sense.
Massive Disney Fans!!!
They are both MASSIVE Disney fans and themed their whole wedding around the amazing animated film from 2009 called UP...!!! There were coloured balloons literally everywhere. It was stunning, and with the white decor of the venue and massive windows everywhere full of the deep blue ocean and crystal clear sunny skies - well - I was in photography paradise!
The upside down 'floating' cake!
The cake was an upside down 3 tier masterpiece. Showing off a classic scene from the film whilst being completely suspended from the ceiling by wires - not touching the table AT ALL!!!!! Their cake was designed and made by Bonneys Cakery. Nicola the cake artist, is amazing!!! She totally took on their brief and delivered. It was such a great centrepiece to their Wedding Breakfast and really helped carry their awesome theme across to their guests.
Chloe got driven to the Wedding by her Father in her very own classic 1989 Mini... It looked especially cool pulling up at the end of the pier with her bridesmaids waiting in their Disney purple dresses complete with bright coloured shoes. They all had a different bright colour to each other. They looked fantastic, and the groomsmen matched the theme with different brightly coloured socks and ties! Pianist - David Bennett played incredibly throughout the day and of course it was mainly Disney songs. He has such an amazing talent for background music.
Super fun 'couple portraits'
I had so much fun with them both when it came to do their 'couple portraits' up and down the pier. The wind had picked up so we took a bunch of balloons out with us and basically had fun. It wasnt hard to do. Chloe & Togun are just so nutty together. They laughed harder and louder than you could imagine and their fun, happy personalities just made everything so, so easy. We did the first set of shots on top of the pier and then later in the day we went under the pier for a different view on things. All Pier's are now on my list of favourite places to shoot. There's just so much you can do!!!!
The day carried on being equally amazing and was finished off by Togun's performance of not one but THREE self written, tear jerking songs written & performed especially for Chloe. I must say I was almost tearing up myself.
One final mention must go to the Eastbourne Pier Caterers arranged by the Ocean Suite- who did such a wonderful buffet BBQ style meal that I was lucky enough to have plenty of too.
